Virtual tours can serve Museums and Historical Sites in
two distinct ways. They can be designed to attract visitors
to your location or they can be designed to provide a virtual
visit via the web or CD-ROM.
Attracting Visitors
Attracting visitors can be a challenge. In our fast-paced
world, people have a limited amount of time and an abundant
number of places where they can spend their time and money. By
providing a virtual glimpse of what you have to offer, potential
visitors are assured that their visit will be worthwhile and
fulfilling. When your primary goal is to attract visitors to
your site, our goal is to create a virtual tour gives the visitor
a taste of what a visit would be like and whetting their
appetite for an in-person visit.
Virtual Visit
When your primary goal is to share your experience with the world,
we will help you design a virtual tour that will replicate and enhance
the experience of a visit. This might be done to present an entire museum or
historical site, or might be used to capture a special exhibit or
temporary installation. As its base structure, a virtual tour would
consist of interconnected panoramic photos, but could also
include written elements, audio commentary, or additional imagery,
photography, maps, sounds or music. The resulting tour would provide
a rich and educational experience that could be shared with the
world via the web or on CD-ROM. In order to help fund the cost
of developing such a project, the tour could be provided for a fee
or sold on CD-ROM.
We invite you to explore how virtual tours might be useful to
your destination and to contact us if you have any questions or are
interested in having us put together a proposal.
